tiki flip cocktail

This recipe is the result of my friends bullying me.

As in, I invited a bunch of friends over, I mentioned I had never mad a flip cocktail before, and they forced me to make one for them.

I don’t make tiki cocktails super often, but I love funky rums, and I wanted to see how they’d work in a flip. In this case, since it was my house, I made my first ever flip with Appleton Estate 21yr rum (a very bougie first flip).

The result was excellent.

Ingredients

0.5oz | 15ml demerara syrup

0.5oz | 15ml Wray & Nephew

0.75oz | 22.5ml Amontillado Sherry

1.25oz | 37.5ml Appleton Estate Rum (21 Year Old if you’re feeling extra fancy)

1 whole egg

Cocktail Directions

Combine all ingredients, dry shake, then shake with ice. Double strain into a coupe or coffee cocktail glass. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
