the best Sazerac recipe

 

There’s something about a Sazerac that just warms my soul on a cloudy, rainy day like today.

Historically, this cocktail is made with either Cognac or Rye whiskey. While individually these spirits make delicious versions of a Sazerac, I believe using both has easily become my favorite.

 

Ingredients

0.33oz | 10ml simple syrup

2 dashes Angostura

6 dashes Peychaud’s

0.5oz | 15ml Rye whiskey

1.5oz | 45ml Cognac

 

Cocktail Directions

Combine all ingredients into a stirring vessel, add ice, and stir until thoroughly chilled and diluted. Strain into a chilled rocks glass that has been dressed with Absinthe. Express a lemon peel over top, discard the peel.
