the sidecar

It’s a classic for a reason.

With the fall in full swing (and the winter quickly approaching), it’s time to break out the aged spirit bangers — and the Sidecar is certainly one of them.

Cognac doesn’t get nearly enough love these days (or brandy in general for that matter), so I plan on bringing some recipes in the next couple weeks to help highlight this category some more as it warms the soul.

Ingredients

0.25oz | 7.5ml 2:1 simple syrup (optional)

0.75oz | 22.5ml lemon juice

0.75oz | 22.5ml orange curacao

2oz | 60ml cognac of choice

Cocktail Directions

Combine all ingredients into a shaker tin, add ice, shake hard, and double strain into a chilled coupe glass with a sugar rim. Garnish with an expressed orange peel.
