In all honesty, I heard this song about an hour ago and just made this video and cocktail on the fly.
I knew I wanted something Boulevardier-esque without thinking too hard. The bottle of Cynar was just staring at me and thought to myself “yeah, that will work.”
Life has been nothing short of crazy lately. But I’m being honest, it’s been 15 months of nothing but change. I’m grateful for everything, but I know I’m not great about taking time for myself, especially lately.
Today, I finally let the pressure off my back for the day and got to absorb and be present. Then out of nowhere, a song triggered the motivation to jump up and just make something for me.
This was fun. That feeling of inspiration was the warm and fuzzy kind. The kind of moment where I felt like a kid again. For weeks life felt too much like work—tonight felt like play.
And for the idiots about to comment about my finger stirring the drink—choke on ‘em.
Ingredients
0.75 oz | 22.5 ml Cynar
0.75 oz | 22.5 ml Carpano Antica
1.5 oz | 45 ml Rye whiskey
Cocktail Directions
Combine all ingredients over a large cube and stir with your finger.
