The best midori sour recipe

by Libby Lingua

Gonna be completely honest, this might be the first time I’ve ever consumed a Midori Sour, period. (Outside of a straw taste of the two ingredient monstrosities I’ve begrudgingly made a time or two in my career).

Sadly, I couldn’t make it to Arizona Cocktail Week to visit Highball and try one of these in person. Libby was kind enough to give me the exact recipe and strict guidelines to execute.

With that said, this recipe is immediately a contender for one of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth so far this year.

@oolalibby might be a f***ing genius with this one — it’s probably why she’s kinda famous for this recipe.

I chugged this within 7 mins flat. No notes.

Ingredients

0.5oz | 15ml fresh lemon juice

0.5oz | 15ml yuzu juice

0.5oz | 15ml 2:1 rich simple syrup

0.5oz | 15ml egg white

2 dashes orange bitters

0.75oz | 22.5ml Pisco (dry, they use Pisco Control)

1.25oz | 37.5ml Midori

Cocktail Directions

Combine all ingredients into a shaker tin, add ice, and shake. Strain, dump ice, and shake again (referred to as a reverse shake) until you no longer hear ice shards in your tin. Dump into a chilled coupe glass. Spray atomized vodka overtop to neutralize air bubbles and potential egg smell.
