jack rose
jack rose cocktail recipe
It’s been a minute since I’ve made a drink and I am RUSTY. To get a jump on getting some content together in my new apartment and while I make the finishing touches on the studio downstairs, I wanted to make my life easy with a 3 ingredient classic.
The Jack Rose is disputed among cocktail nerds of who invented it, but most research shows that it was likely invented in the 1890s in the NY/NJ region.
Makes sense, because the base spirit required is apply brandy, and the most common brand would have been Laird’s based in NJ.
The recipe typically calls for Applejack, which is lighter in proof and sweeter than what I used in the video. Either will work, but I tend to lean toward Bottled in Bond for the higher proof when I can.
