Utilizing the oleo saccharum technique, the iconic flavors of fresh lemon and honey are reintegrated into a thoughtful way to make an old fashioned.
I always prefer my bourbons on the bold side, so Knob Creek 9 Year is perfect in this cocktail — sitting at 100 proof, matured to perfection in white oak barrels with notes of vanilla and caramel.
Ingredients
750ml Knob Creek 9 Year Straight Bourbon
5oz | 150ml Gold Rush syrup
5oz | 150ml water
15 dashes aromatic bitters
Cocktail Directions
Combine all ingredients into a large container and stir, transfer into a 1L bottle to store in freezer. Serve over a large block of ice in a rocks glass, add a pinch of salt, garnish with orange and lemon peels.
