pen pal cocktail recipe

 

Today we’re making a cocktail by the Kaitlyn Stewart. In Kaitlyn, we trust.

While her book, featuring this cocktail, doesn’t come out until later this year, she’s leaving breadcrumbs all over her IG page these days and this one sounded like a banger (because of course it is).

Like a cross between a French 75 and an Airmail, keep this recipe handy for an easy, yet delicious show stopper.


 

Ingredients

2 dashes Peychaud bitters

0.5oz (15ml) 2:1 simple syrup

0.5oz (15ml) Aperol

0.75oz (22.5ml) fresh lemon juice

1oz (30ml) blanco tequila

Sparkling wine

 

Cocktail Directions

Combine syrup, aperol, lemon juice, and tequila into a shaker tin, add ice, and shake. Double strain into a collins glass filled with ice, top with sparkling wine (Kaitlyn loves Cava). Garnish with a fresh lemon peel, expressed.
