lime leaf margarita recipe

Is your margarita really THAT good? Prove it.

It’s time for the 5th Annual Margarita Challenge hosted by Cointreau. This year, the competition embraces sustainability with the mantra: from Fruit to Leaf.

This challenge is meant to push your creativity to honor both the planet and the palate. Your mission is to select a fruit and find a way to harness its full potential applying your knowledge and techniques to maximize flavor and minimize waste.

To explore this idea, I made a lime cordial utilizing every aspect of the fruit — zest, juice, and the lime leaves. It’s a bright and flavorful cordial that elevates the simple margarita spec and adds some subtle complexity.

Enter the Margarita Challenge by February 28th, 2025 for your chance to compete at the finals to win a trip for two to France, and $5000 to fund a guest shift at any bar in the world.
